the issues

our work tackles head-on

Our region faces real challenges — for rivers, wildlife, and the people who depend on them.

  • Rivers that supply clean water to millions are stressed by drought, pollution, and climate change.

  • Critical wildlife and salmon habitat is disappearing, threatening the species that depend on these rivers.

  • Overgrown, fire-prone forests put communities, water supplies, and ecosystems at risk.

  • Many people — especially youth — lack access to nature and opportunities to learn, explore, and lead.

  • Communities want to protect the places they love but need clear pathways to take meaningful action.

We’re Building the Solutions

These Watersheds Need

Clean Water

&River

Protection

We safeguard the rivers that supply clean water to millions.

Through policy advocacy, science-based monitoring, and river protection campaigns, we defend the Tuolumne, Merced, and Stanislaus Rivers from drought, pollution, and overuse — keeping water flowing from the Sierra crest to the Pacific.

Wildlife

& Habitat

Restoration

We restore meadows, rebuild salmon habitat, and revive ecosystems.

Our teams work on the ground to heal damaged waterways, reconnect wildlife corridors, and bring native species — including returning Chinook salmon — back to thriving habitat.

Forest

Health

& Climate Resilience

We strengthen forests and protect communities from wildfire and climate impacts.

By reducing fuel loads, planting trees, and restoring overgrown forests, we build resilience into the landscapes that safeguard wildlife, rivers, and downstream water supplies.

Community,

Education &

Partnerships

We empower youth, volunteers, and local communities to lead the way.

From classroom programs and nature-based adventures to collaborative projects with tribes, agencies, and local partners, we create meaningful pathways for people to learn, connect, and take action.

Our mission

To protect and restore Yosemite’s rivers so people, wildlife, and communities can thrive.

As climate change, drought, and habitat loss threaten the rivers that sustain millions, our region faces growing risks to clean water, forests, and biodiversity.

We unite conservation and community to restore habitat, strengthen forest resilience, and advocate for strong river protections.

The result is a healthier, more resilient watershed where clean water flows, wildlife returns, and communities are empowered to shape their future.
